Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Apr 12, 2013 9:41 pm I am wanting to put a flywire door on our front door as we get a lovely sea breeze coming that side of house and I am a person that loves fresh air going through the house. We need the flywire door as we get alot of small midgies and flywires here on the farm BUT nobody told me when we decided to have a glass door done the same as the windows that it not ideal to have a flywire door as nothing really to attach the door to. Was suggested that the side window of door should of been made in a tilt and turn like all the windows with a flyscreen and we could of just opened that for a nice breeze. Bit late now though. I have just received a quote from the company to change side window to a tilt and turn with flyscreen and WOW I am totally shocked at what they are wanting to charge me. So any one have any ideas of what I could do. Here is some pictures of door. I did get a local window and door company to come out and see what they could do as we thought the same that you could attach a frame to uPvc for wire door, BUT it would look butt ugly and stick out from the frame already there. Company got back to me and said they did not want to touch it and were sorry!! Gets me how they can make a door but not consider that you might want a flywire door as well. Might have to see if I can find another uPvc window provider that has the golden oak that might be able to help me out and change the side window?? Thanks again Re: Flywire Door Help on uPvc Front Door 4Apr 14, 2013 7:18 am all the best like you i would think the company that designed the door would have considered the options. I was going to have a normal wooden type front door put there, but the company suggested I put their door there keeping there uPVC right through the house. They could of told me I would not be able to have a flywire door. Does your company do the Golden Oak uPVC?? If yes, would I be able to email you and see about getting a price to change the fixed window beside this door, to an opening one?? Thanks for your time. Hi, sorry we don't do PVC anymore for lots of reasons. Can you have a portico/porch with the outer framed "crimsafe"style, then walking into the porch area for your PVC door? I know only one company that "may" do PVC with the flydoor... all PVC is either European, or USA design, hence no flyscreens. Inframe may be able to help you with a PVC alternative... Dandenong... Brick veneer required the window to be attached to the house frame, this is usually achieved by screwing through the timber reveal into the frame.
