I have suddenly got it into my head to start looking for blinds.
Our house has a number of tall but thin windows that i think would look good with timber venetians (i am quite partial to timber blinds).
The larger windows (2410w x 1457h) are on either side of our alfresco area opposite each other, again i was thinking timber venetians. Adjacent to that we have a double cavity sliding door, I am not sure what to do with this one. I was thinking of perhaps a roman across the whole door/window area or i could be boring and go with 3 x timber venetians (a small one on each window at side of the doors and a large one to cover the doors)
In the rumpus be have a 2410w x 1200h sliding window. The main purpose of this room will be a home cinema / media room. Was thinking roman with a sunscreen underneath.
Would really appreciate some ideas. I got a price from Vista for timber venetians throughout (except double doors and rumpus), they came back with nearly $8000 installed. I have looked on iseekblinds.com.au and cheapblinds.com.au and they price it at around half of that.
Has anyone here bought blinds online, if so is it any better/worse product or should i stick to retail. What are the risks of not going retail. I would like to save some money if possible.

Yep, we bought all our blinds from www.iseekblinds.com.au for our last house. Found them to be very good quality. They were cedar horizontal venetians. We gave them all our measurements and ordered them online and the blinds were delivered to our front door 1 week later. We just had to fit them ourselves but all blinds fitted perfectly.
We'll be going back to iseekblinds for our new house as well.

Ratter, we're looking at purchasing from Home Outlet and should be able to do the whole house for $2500.
For our sliding doors for the alfresco, we are possibly looking at Panel Glides and we will make up a pelmet to go over the top.
The balance of our house will be timber blinds or double roller blinds.
Check them out if you want to: http://homeoutlet.com.au
They were the cheapest we found and their quality and colour range is comparable to the competition....(oh and they were the ONLY place that we could find that had chocolate coloured timber for the blinds - that sis not have to be custom made)
