I want them to open for ventilation/cross draft purposes and they will be double-glazed units. Awning? Casement? Can they be casement style with the hinge at the top so they open like awnings but can go all the way to horizontal so the whole area is open for airflow? In the case of a high (above head height) mounted window, what is easiest to operate? Land settled May '14. For the above head height mounted windows you could get a motorized remote opening (with a switch). I reckon the best thing you could do to find out would be to send the measurements to window companies that do double glazed windows and get a couple quotes with what they recommend for your needs.
