Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Jan 09, 2013 1:19 am Hi Guys, Just after some advice on what we have just done...we went to a door sale as the doors we wanted for half way down our hallway (M&B Shelby 2040x720x35) were possibly going to be there and they were selling all floor stock cheap. We found the doors...but only the external version (M&B Shelley 2040x720x40) which we can either paint or stain and came at the awesome price of $175 each. We didn't check the specs too well and didn't notice the 5mm difference in size until we left. We rang the shop and they advised there will be no issue and is standard practice to hang the 40mm doors on normal internal door frames. Is this true? We are able to get a refund if we want but for $175 a door we really want to keep them! Our builder is happy to paint and hang doors for us, we just need to supply them. If it makes any difference they will be hung as double doors. Re: Using 40mm door on 35mm internal door frame 2Jan 11, 2013 11:22 am All it means is that they stick out 5mm - almost unseen and I doubt anyone will pick it. I've installed quite a few over the years and it has never been a problem. Stewie This is 100% true. You can not hang anything on steel frames. very frustrating 8 8054 Current door width is approx 2700, looking to have double doors fitted 820-820.
