However - having two tracks you have to ensure that they meet exactly otherwise they look really dicky!!

Is this two stacker doors in a double cavity? Or two seperate doors coming together from each side? You can get standard cavity sliders from 620 to 870 wide, meaning two can give you up to 1640 coverage. Two singles work much better, that way you can open just one to leave the room. The problem with the "join" is merely alignment, and being a new home it shouldn't be an issue. If the builder doesn't get it right, its easy enough for yourself to adjust the tracks to make the correction Electrical Engineer... Don't hold that against me... And keen owner builder...
