HI all,
Long time reader, first time poster
My wife and I are building a french provincial/neo-classical style house, with big french styled windows out at the front (2400h x 1690w). (Almost like this: http://imganuncios.mitula.net/a_very_sp ... 463751.jpg) The energy rating came back requiring us to use aluminium frame double glazing for all the windows.
But according to the builder and his window guy, the build would be essentially a french door that opens outwards
it would be difficult to make the the windows of that size without being heavy (~100Kg with the windows).
Could I get that clarified with the expert here? Are they that difficult to make or does it really takes 100Kg of materials? Are there alternatives?
We are not fuzz on how these windows should open, so long as they open.
Thanks in advance.
