Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Oct 21, 2012 12:35 pm We are having them. Anyone have a good answer for insect screens - relatively cheap - but lasting and easy to use. I gather we can't have a door. Re: Wooden Stacker Doors - slide in on each other. 2Oct 24, 2012 6:53 am i recently installed an aluminium stacker door. very big one. it comes with sliding screen doors. so i guess there is one in timber out there. Re: Wooden Stacker Doors - slide in on each other. 3Nov 02, 2012 12:51 pm Thanks guys. We have problems with screen security doors as our stackers include a corner (right angle) which doesn't have a solid column. I'd like to see pics too. Thanks. Re: Wooden Stacker Doors - slide in on each other. 4Jan 01, 2013 4:16 pm I'll raise this again just in case ... Our doors will be wooden stacker variety. We can't have the normal type due to the construction style. Re: Wooden Stacker Doors - slide in on each other. 5Jan 01, 2013 7:01 pm We have a 3 walled alfresco, on main wall off dining room we have a 4 leaf timber bifold, on other walls we have timber sliders. Screens weren't possible unless we went retractable which we're not interested in. We have an outdoor fan in the alfresco which seems to deter any flys (we don't have mosquitoes here). I'm probably going to put sheer curtains up also to keep out bugs at night, but I love curtains so probably would have put them up anyway. Re: Wooden Stacker Doors - slide in on each other. 6Jan 01, 2013 7:03 pm Plus, I just love it being open! We do (will) have a fan in the Alfresco so will use. I was also planning a bug gadget. The curtain idea could be good also. Re: Wooden Stacker Doors - slide in on each other. 8Jan 02, 2013 3:06 pm How do alumin stacker doors compare in price to bi folds? Are they cheaper? I need a 4 metre one... Lets do it on Facebook... https://www.facebook.com/pages/First-Ho ... 553?ref=hl Building a Loft Home with a rear balcony... http://www.lofthomes.com.au/ Re: Wooden Stacker Doors - slide in on each other. 9Jan 02, 2013 10:19 pm We found aluminium would be WAY cheaper than timber, but we really wanted the timber. EDIT sorry I misread your question, I'm not sure of the price difference between a stacker and a bi fold. Re: Wooden Stacker Doors - slide in on each other. 10Jan 03, 2013 7:04 pm The wooden stackers were a free extra. Stacker Doors: Re: Wooden Stacker Doors - slide in on each other. 12Jan 18, 2013 5:03 pm I kinda like the idea of the magnets. Re: Wooden Stacker Doors - slide in on each other. 14Jan 27, 2013 10:38 am We came up with an idea to screen off the pergola instead of trying to screen the door. We have 4 kids so it might be a better solution for us than spending heaps on the stegbar screen when one of them will probably run through it. We saw it at the display when we were ordering our windows and it looks very nice though! Any pics/links of what you mean T&S ? Re: Wooden Stacker Doors - slide in on each other. 16Feb 05, 2013 5:51 am Have had a bit of success framing up the bottom section of the wall and using wire for the top. Saves a lot of problems with children and dogs. cheers Re: Wooden Stacker Doors - slide in on each other. 17May 25, 2013 10:35 am I've finally got Stegbar to come and quote on the screens. It took many calls and requests. Apparently they have to be on the inside and cost a bit. Any other ideas ? Apparently they have to be on the inside and cost a bit. Any other ideas ? They will be the horizontal retractable I think... yes expensive and prone to blowing in with the wind and damage by small children and pets. Maybe look at a roller blind type solution in mesh in say 2m sections, not perfect and maybe only 90% effective, but probably 1/10th the price. While price is a key - I'd prefer the sliding. Agree on pets and kids. We have 3 doors on either side of the corner - with two opening/sliding onto the third. Leaving about 2.5mts open on either side of the corner. About 2 mts high. I'm thinking we just have to bite the bullet and do it - as we can't stand having insects - especially flies - in the house - and we love having the doors open. Aluminium doors that don't have the built in track for the screens can be adapted with add-on tracks, so I think it should be the same for timber, I would try another flydoor supplier. Then say $1.5k - $2k maybe, but stronger and more practical. Ed "ECOECO" At 'EcoEco', we design windows, we design the best windows, we do it for you, so that when you’re happy we are happy.
