Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Sep 22, 2012 1:12 pm Hi all, How much gap should be between the bottom of the doors & the frame? Our front doors have a very wide gap & the laundry door has the same. Enough so that when quite windy & raining the rain gets under the laundry door & comes inside You can even put your fingers through. SS said that the doors will have weather thingys on them, but to me you would poss be able to see them if you bent just alittle & had a squiz. cheers kat Block bought 1st RBC X! 2nd Ventrua,Keeper! What i am trying to work out is there a measurement that is standard/normal re the height of the bottom of the door to the bottom of the frame.Just like what they leave for carpet or tiling. Due to the big gap under the doors i am concerned that you will see the back of the weather strip when the doors are closed. Wouldn't the gap normally be just off flush?? Very nice. It's so low that if there i anything larger than a grain sand it scrapes, which is not a problem since I have tiled floors. Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 Re: Gap between bottom of door & frame?? 6Sep 23, 2012 12:27 am i had similar gap before the weather strip went in. now weather strip is in, i can not see any gap and i don't notice weather strip as well. I was also concerned / worried first like you. So don't worry, it will be ok once weather strip goes in.
