Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Aug 28, 2012 5:03 pm Hi All I am in the process of buying a pig and putting lipstick on it. The main thing I want to do is replace the old chair rail windows and doors with sliding doors across an area of about 6-7m. I have a very good supplier of cedar doors locally and they are fitted in my current house. Q. Are there any excellent Aluminium sliding door manufacturers in Sydney? Names please. Q2 Is it true that good Aluminium sliding doors are about 1/2 the price of cedar? Also is the use of new eco/smart glass worth the money? Q3 In your opinion are Cedar or Aluminium better for outside use. It doesn't matter too much on this pig anything I do will be a step up. Hope this is not too much for a first question but I have to make a call in the next few weeks. regards Ardy Re: Aluminium or Cedar sliding doors 2Aug 28, 2012 5:42 pm ardy Hi All I am in the process of buying a pig and putting lipstick on it. I have no idea who to recommend in Sydney. I am sure aluminium will be at lower cost and I am sure it is more durable. Don't use the smart glass option unless it is double glazed - it will give you a headache. It does not do what double glazing does at all, in fact the only similarity is that you can see through it... and you can even see through the hype... Works fine in double glazing reduce solar heat gain to North & West, but that is all - and then only use it with double glazing... I can give you details if you like, or just check out my other posts. Do you supply in NSW or is their an agent? regards Ardy No agent, but plenty of people arrange a removalist.
