I am sure you can ignore any risk. I was brought up in houses with lead pipes for the water... But if it worries you then put some clear varnish on the exposed lead. I would have thought it be safer (modern OSH laws) and cheaper to manufacture without lead. Re: Lead windows in door - concerned about toddlers 4Sep 17, 2012 6:19 pm No its real lead canes. It always surprised me how this was used indoors given the concern about lead (e.g. using unleaded petrol etc). Re: Lead windows in door - concerned about toddlers 6Oct 03, 2012 11:25 am Hi,i am unsure about any studies,do a quick web search if you feel the need. The main risk is when you are making & handling the lead, remember to wash hands, have open windows, some products you should wear a mask etc. I never worked with lead when pregnant, for my own peace of mind. I would not let my child suck on the lead etc,in a normal house enviroment with a leadlight front door or window it would not really cause probs. In a house full of leadlight it maybe a different thing, espec old ones. Remember there is lead in alot of things, even water i believe Unleaded petrol is everywhere in the air, there are poss slight risks all over the place, its never endng! It seems this could be a real problem for you,it maybe better to get rid of the door. Block bought 1st RBC X! 2nd Ventrua,Keeper! The problem with lead-paint was two-fold, kids sucking and chewing on lead-paint painted toys and old paint crumbling and flaking, not so much good surfaces that were just sitting there minding their own business ! That could have happened during the build, or may be happening currently. There are water stains above a couple of windows… 2 3826 House movement is always a potential problem and there is a cause.
