At the moment, the room may not be too hot, but in the future with the sun beating down on the window, you may kick yourself for not putting in low E or double glazed windows. Double glazed windows will make no difference to solar heat gain, only shading and low-E will help. But then low-E only works in a double glazed unit. But double glazing on its own is useless for controlling solar heat gain. Just don't use low-E on its own!!! I hope this makes sense.
