Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 May 31, 2012 4:10 pm Hi, New house. Original plans were for a standard 820mm wide door + 300mm side light. If the budget will allow, I'm interested in getting a 1,200mm pivot door. Will a pivot door + frame of say 1280mm fit? The allocated space was say 1260mm, so can I simply tell the carpenter/brickie to make it bigger? One last question, does the door frame go on before the brickie starts, or after they have finished? Also, any places in Melb which sell pivot doors and the frame/hinges cheaper than the $3k quote I received? Re: Will a 1,200mm pivot door fit my house 2Jun 03, 2012 8:28 pm With a brick and a half on the left (350mm) you will have 1270mm frame opening. Fit frame firat and brick to that. @builderforlife Building inspector and passionate about construction When you need an expert to take a look. Re: Will a 1,200mm pivot door fit my house 4Jun 07, 2012 4:26 pm Thanks for the confirmation Marcus, I thought it could be done. I've been to your website too, very informative. I have 2.7m ceilings so it should be ok height wise with the pivit hinge.. The only thing that may stop me with the pivot frame and hinge is the cost!!! Very pricey!!! Maybe I'll go with normal hinges on a 1200mm door, I know it's not recommended, but 5 hinges is nothing compared to the cost of the pivot hinge. Vess- how heavy is your 1200mm door to open/close and how many hinges did you use Otherwise, I may just go for a 1000mm wide door with normal hinges.. Or can someone recommend a place which sells reasonably priced doors and pivot hinge frames Hello everyone Please advice me how can I install mesh security window or we cab say mesh flyscreen inside while the pvc plantation shutters are already installed?
