Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Apr 02, 2012 4:35 pm Hi helpful Homeone members, I'm about to have a set of timber french doors installed (outward opening) - external, but am struggling to work out how to ensure the doors can be locked and secure. I will have a deadlock on the opening door, but don't know how to secure the second opening door. I think my options are: 1) a flush mount bolt on the inside of the second opening door. I can get one that matches the flush mount bolts in a bi-fold that is in the same area. 2) A flush mount bolt on the side rail (edge) of the door. What worries me about this is the fact there is a rebate in that edge to allow for the opening door to marry up against it. 3) An aftermarket locking bolt, but I think that will look ordinary. 4) Some other way I haven't thought of yet. Do you have any thoughts on how I can 'lock' the second opening door? Or what do you think of the options above.
