Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Feb 21, 2012 4:03 pm Just out of interest if you don't upgrade your window glass thickness or double glaze what is the standard thickness that builders use or window companies supply? Re: Standard Glass Thickness? 2Feb 21, 2012 7:11 pm it depends on wind rating, fire rating, actual size of glass, class of building, (basix probably as well!) etc. the min. rated according to the BCA was 3mm ordinary annealed glass, and then running up from there. do a google search for bca 2011 3.6.0 glazing or ring your local glazier and confirm with them. cheers Re: Standard Glass Thickness? 3Feb 21, 2012 8:47 pm Thanks mate, I was going to call Trend or Stegbar today but ran out of time. Thanks for the suggestion checking that out now What we have done in a few theatres ( including my own) is run 2 layers of 13mm gyprock, but sounds insulation especially for the bass is really tricky as a lot of that… 4 2553 Need to remove glass panel out of concrete without wrecking the glass to get the spa room in, any recommendations on how to do that.
