Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Feb 19, 2012 7:00 am Hi, I am looking for a supplier for a 2000mm wide single unit cavity slider for an internal wall. Was wondering if anyone was aware of a company which would make one that big? The actual door will be just a solid door which I will paint so doesn't need to be full timber or anything. Height would be 2,400mm. I am in Sydney. Cheers Re: Oversized custom cavity slider 3Feb 19, 2012 12:59 pm wow - that will be one big but beautiful door. I have seen some of those doors in custom homes, particularly between living rooms and foyers. We didn't want to use Corinthian for our front door (as they use merbau timber), so after a lot of research we found a lovely guy at North Coast Doors in Toormina (somewhere on the north coast). We have custom ordered a 1000mm x 2400mm spotted gum front door and it is only costing us $1,500. If you are interested in getting the cavity custom made send me a PM and I give you his details. I think I had an initial quote from "Cavity Sliders" but it was more than $3k all up just for the materials (no install) which I thought I could find cheaper. Maybe i'm wrong?? Sunshine T I will pm you. Thanks Re: Oversized custom cavity slider 7Feb 20, 2012 8:49 pm ok thanks PHL. If that's the case we really need to decide how much we really want that door/opening then. cheers. Re: Oversized custom cavity slider 9Feb 22, 2012 8:30 pm Rather than one big slider, can you put two more standard sliders? (That's what we are doing in our entrance foyer). Or a bifold door or something? If you are going to spend a lot of money on a door make sure you have a written gaurantee on how much the door is allowed to bow before they replace it.
