Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Feb 03, 2012 4:00 pm guys, I have a new house in Sydney and all my sliding doors (and some windows) have a large gap between the top of the window frame and brick. I am organising tradies to rectify this. I am told this will be done by ordering in powdercoated trim pieces. I think this is going to look quite ugly but dont know what else can be done at this point. what do people think about the gap and potential solutions?? image attached. http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/4244/me001i.jpg Re: Are my new windows stuffed?? 2Feb 03, 2012 5:06 pm IMHO that window is the wrong size. What stage of the build are you? Have you past final inspection? If not, measure the window opening and the window and compare against your specifications and then your plans. If its different, raise the issue with your builder. Also consider getting an independent inspector. Good luck RiH Re: Are my new windows stuffed?? 3Feb 03, 2012 8:59 pm The brickies brick around the windows and doors which are installed in the timber house frame. Doors sit on the slab so can't be adjusted upwards, so the problem is caused by the brickies. They could have worked the brickwork to fit, now the only economic solution is to fit trims. Try one and see how you feel - I think if it was done before you saw the problem you would not have noticed.
