Browse Forums Windows & Doors Re: internal doors with glass panel 3Jan 20, 2012 1:40 pm chatterbox Just wanted opinions...... We are thinking of having solid wood engineered internal doors with a full glass panel. These would be the (white) opaque glass, so you cannot see through other than a vague shadow. Do you think people wouldn"t feel private? All the toilet doors are sliding so the actual wc is not in view of the door.... I thought that if it felt "unprivate" we could have block out blinds on the inside of the doors...that would also mean that daylight wouldn't wake us up coming though from the hallway... any thoughts etc? I really cannot find any other doors that I actually like...... I actually lived some time in a house where all the doors were with glass, even doors to the bathrooms. (not in Australia though) It looked really good, but personally I hated it. In our new house we will have such doors only in the study and laundry, all other areas will have full timber doors - 100% for privacy reasons Okay, then the choice is really about the build quality of the door itself which means the brand name. Sorry I can't recommend one or the other so best to rely on comments… 5 3274 What do you need them to withstand? If it's normal wear and tear, then either will do, if you want resistance to ingress then laminated would be the favourite, but only… 1 12391 Thanks. Yeh ideally that would have been good, but have progressed too far now. Hoping some well placed internal walls fixed up into the battens will provide some… 2 5412 |
