Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Jan 11, 2012 3:14 pm Hi all I'm new to the website and am hoping someone out there can help! We have 2 x20yr old Stegbar sliding timber doors with sliding fly screens. The fly screens are constantly coming off the track - which is a raised track, not set into the ground. The surround is painted wood, so when they come off the paint flakes and the wood is starting to split. In addition to this, I have 2 young boys who aren't gentle, and the screens (oddly) don't have any form of handle on the outside - so they aren't helping the cause. We want to replace these with new fly screens (the current ones are just powdercoated aluminium that you can easily cut the mesh of), potentially with a security screen. My main question is can I use the existing tracks if I get new doors? We are on a tight budget and have found a company (Ezi Doors) in WA that will DIY - but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this. cheers Re: Replacing sliding flyscreens using existing track?? 2Jan 11, 2012 10:10 pm aruepert Hi all I'm new to the website and am hoping someone out there can help! But they may not be very secure if it's a raised aluminium track as it could be easy to remove the door. And you can get them re-meshed. Ed "ECOECO" At 'EcoEco', we design windows, we design the best windows, we do it for you, so that when you’re happy we are happy.
