Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Jan 09, 2012 10:14 am Hello, I've done some searching but thought I'd create a new topic so I don't drag the existing threads off track. Can I please get your thoughts? I currently have verticals on all my windows in the apartment and I've decided to get rid of them. The plasticky head and bottom clips are broken in a few spots, the verticals in the main bedroom have spots of mould (which can't be cleaned), and to be honest, I really don't like the look of them. Which probably explains why they're so poorly looked after. The walls of my apartment are white and I have modern furnishings so I want to keep a clean look. On the fixed panes, the windows are recessed and I'm planning to fit them out with roller blinds with wire guides, which will keep them neatly tethered. I'm thinking of going for matching roller blinds on the sliding doors too but I'm a bit concerned with the execution... I have four sliding door arrangements at home, which are full length floor to ceiling glass. 1) Two panes, one sliding door on the right that slides to the left 2) Two panes, one sliding door on the right that slides to the left 3) Three panes, one sliding door in the middle that slides to the left 4) Four panes, double sliding doors in the middle that slide to each side Should I have an individual roller blind for EACH pane of glass (typically 750-900mm wide)? Or should I try to keep minimise the number of blinds on each arrangement. I can run one blind for each of arrangements 1-3 but the last arrangement, with four panes, is too wide so will need two roller blinds. Some inspiration below... Re: Roller Blinds on Sliding Doors 2Jan 10, 2012 11:07 pm Hi I have one three pane sliding door ( in the middle ) which have individual blinds - find its good to sometimes to just have the one for the door opening up at times and leave the others rolled down and have a four pane bifold door which has two large blinds which also works well . Just think about how often you will use the doors and whether you need to keep some blinds down sometimes for sun protection etc. Roller Blinds on Sliding Doors 3Jan 11, 2012 5:15 am I agree that you need to consider what jtnru has said, but in terms of practicality, keeping the number to a minimum would be my priority. The fewer that you need to open and close the better, which also minimises the problem of having to line them up evenly... If you're that way inclined !
