Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Nov 08, 2011 9:56 pm Hi All, I have just had an independant inspector go through my house before PCI. He has noted that my garage door (to back yard) sits out of square in opening. To fix this would involve taking the bricks out and rebricking around the area. To no surprise, the builder is not keen to do this and has suggested alternatives to mask the uneveness. From the outside, the door is in square, its on the inside of the garage that you can see the difference. I've had options to plaster the area above the door to mask the uneveness to installing a timber door frame with enviroseal?? not sure I really understand. My inspector has told me that the defect is not structural. Has anyone had experience with this and what have they done to resolve it. Should I insist on the brickie re-doing it and risk anymore damage. I am not too fussed with the way it looks and to be honest I didn't even notice it until it was pointed out. I just want to make an informed choice - if anyone can help it would be much appreciated. thanks, stuey. No idea about the driveway question, but your price for a house that size including landscaping seems very good! 1 6174 920 was enough to get the furniture in. We live in a pretty safe area and it’s great to see people walking to the front door. We’re not too fussed about people… 4 1340 4 14310 |
