Browse Forums Windows & Doors Re: scratches on window frames..... 21May 06, 2012 3:38 pm Thanks for the replies guys. I'd be happy with a repair or even some compensation if left as is for that matter. I just want it over with. I don't want to deal with PD any more. I'll post in the PD thread (it's the Porter Davis homes one right?) and send off a PM. Can someone please tell me the username of the official PD contact on this forum? As soon as you explain your situation they always end up doing something, they said no to me, but after all that i could. need to be tuff khamtran d3vil_nik mate i told you, best is call there head office ask to speak to operation manager , or email them If I don't hear anything by the end of thee week I'll do that. Do you know what the best email address to get them on would be? Thanks for the advice d3vil_nik, I'll see how things go. To be honest I'd be happy if they just compensated us slightly for the damage, especially since we had other windows repaired as well. A new house with several repaired windows doesn't make me feel all that great. I just don't want to have to deal with them any more. I'll contact head office and see how that goes. Thanks again. Re: scratches on window frames..... 32May 11, 2012 4:34 pm Ebony finally replied today. They ended up getting the Area Manager of New Homes Maintenance to call me. The Area Manager was quite understanding but said we pretty much shouldn't have signed the PCI form saying that everything had been completed. He said when the maintenance come out for the 3 month inspection they basically don't look at anything on the PCI form - just new issues that have arisen. He said he'll still try to help us out with the windows but he didn’t sound very convincing so I'm not holding my breath. What's happed is we've basically been misled by our SS. On handover day he said, I'll just need you guys to sign here and these items (that were listed) we'll sort out today and over the next couple of days. Stupid us for trusting him. I'm basically fed up. Doesn't look like there's much that I can do now. I'll probably just do a post in the PD thread to share this. Hopefully others will make sure EVERYTHING is fixed on their handover day before signing. We were pressured into signing and threatened with interest payments by or BC and SS if we didn’t settle on time. No doubt they wanted their on-time completion bonuses. I don't want to waste any more time dealing with PD. Just so disappointed with them. Re: scratches on window frames..... 33May 11, 2012 10:21 pm Mate dont give up, did u get his name? number?. Call them monday ask them whats happening. Tell him to give u timeframe when wat will happen?. Then call his boss and talk to him. They will do something Re: scratches on window frames..... 35May 12, 2012 8:09 am khamtran Ebony finally replied today. They ended up getting the Area Manager of New Homes Maintenance to call me. It is obvious that a dent in a first floor window is caused during construction, it is obvious that signing anything doesn't change that it is their responsibility, and it is obvious that you would win at VCAT. If you have the energy, threaten that you will take it to VCAT - where for about $35 you will get a fair hearing. Tel. 1800 326 326 Re: scratches on window frames..... 37May 12, 2012 8:48 pm I know we're in the right in. I just don't feel like it's worth the additional stress of having to deal with PD. The stress of building (and dealing with PD) has certainly made me not want to ever build again. Re: scratches on window frames..... 39May 14, 2012 11:43 am The SS ended up calling me today and said he was at the property and took photos of the windows so it looks like area manager did chase it up for us. During the phone call the SS is made it out like we're bringing up new issues that weren't noted earlier but is happy to take care of them. There was a lot of disagreement with what was said etc etc. I just want it over with and don't want to argue any more. Do you know if PD would offer compensation for these types of things? To be honest I'd rather just get a small amount of compensation for the damage and live with it. Just want them out of my life. Re: scratches on window frames..... 40May 14, 2012 2:30 pm I spoke to the SS again and proposed being compensated for the damage (whatever the cost of the repair would be) rather than getting the repair. He said he'd speak to his manager about it so hopefully we'll get a positive response from that. I also don't want to take any more time off work to wait for tradies. For your reference Performance Labels: Window assemblies in housing, except timber windows, must be labelled so the label can be seen when it is in situ. For timber… 6 7716 That sucks! Hope it all works out. Good to move away from steel anyway for all your reasons, but it's also thermally poor. 16 17858 |
