Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Jul 15, 2011 4:41 pm Hi, I am trying to replace a flyscreen in my Mum's window, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to do it. The window appears to have some sort of anti-tamper bar or something like that which seems to lock the flyscreen in there. My Mum bent the original flyscreen to get it out and I made a new one for her, but I just can't work out how to get it in there. Below are a couple of pics showing the flyscreen, the "anti-tamper" bar (feel free to correct me on terminology here), and the window. The second pic shows how little room there is for actually trying to fit this all in. Any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks, Chris Re: Is there a trick to installing flyscreens in these windo 2Jul 16, 2011 12:35 pm I have no idea about anti-tamper bars but most sliding windows require you to remove the sliding pane, then fit the flyscreen from the inside, then replace the pane. That's how ours work anyway, and the design hasn't changed from our old place which was built 25 years ago. Thanks for the suggestions. We did try that, but it still looked like it just wasn't going to fit. I'll take another look next time I'm at Mum's and let you know how I got on. Thanks, Chris Re: Is there a trick to installing flyscreens in these windo 5Jul 28, 2011 12:48 am Installing from the inside, while wedging it in at the top on a 45 degree angle, and then just slotting the bottom part of the screen in worked a treat.
