Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Jul 02, 2011 7:05 pm I wanted to put up some fly screens on the outside of my aluminum windows. Looking at the clips that you can get at Bunnings it appears that you have to drill a screw into the aluminum frame in order to secure the fly screen to the window. I am concerned about doing this as I can’t see how this wouldn’t interfere with the sliding of the window open (as the screw would be impeding the track). Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there any other way to affix the clips without screwing them in? (or are there other solutions for this problem)? Re: Installing flyscreens 5Jul 03, 2011 5:35 pm davemeal The window frames look pretty old – there appears to be on some of them and so there isn’t a spot for the fly screens to slot into (i.e. no recessed space/track for them to sit in). IMO. Ask a flyscreen supplier if he can fit awning adaptors (as used on the inside of awning windows) to the OUTSIDE of the sliding windows, then slide in your flyscreens.
