Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 May 07, 2011 3:30 pm We are doing extensive renos and in our plan we have a living area with a deck cut into one corner of it - like a 90 degree angle quarter taken out of a square, which forms the deck - hope this makes sense. The plan allows for for 2 x 2124 sliding doors, one for each side, with a 2109 double hung window in between, on a further angle, rather than a straight corner. It would be quite nice to have the possiblity of opening the whole area, so we were wondering, can you just get bifold doors that go around a corner? And if so, what about the extra angle? Can you get bifolds that follow different angles around. What about bifolds that go from the inner angle over to one side - say, the right, and then others that open the rest of the way to the left. No idea if I've managed to explain the design, but if anyone has ideas - using bifolds, stackers, or a mix we'd be interested. We are looking at economical designs, so unfortunately price is a factor, - and this does mean we might have to stick to the original plan - but I was wondering, by the time we buy two sliding doors and a double hung, maybe it might only be a little bit more for something that does the whole lot? Ideas and suggestions would be welcome. Re: Ideas needed please, bifold(?) going around a corner? 2May 10, 2011 5:15 pm Yes, you can achieve the effect you're after with either bifolds or stacker sliding doors. I suspect it wouldn't be cheap though, because you'd need extra structural support engineered into the design, as you won't have any walls or posts in the opening to hold the roof up.
