Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Mar 20, 2011 7:43 am Hi, I am going to joiners to quote me on bifolds and windows as per my window schedule in my design plans. Currently my architect has specified 2 awning windows (730mm wide by 1800 high). As it is the back part of the house he said if I wanted to change it to double hung then no problem. Why I am thinking double hung is to increase airflow. I like the look of awning windows but how do they compare to double hung? Thanks PK Re: Awning windows versus doublehung 2Mar 31, 2011 4:38 pm Check out Aneeta Sashless windows, they do a double hung window but look similar to an awning. It's a fallacy that a particular shape of opening is any more efficient for airflow, it's all down to pressure differences, ventilation occurs through pressure differences, outside and inside when air is sucked through the home.
