Browse Forums Windows & Doors Re: Powder coating on window scratched during installation?? 8Jul 15, 2020 12:27 pm TagerD bella13 Hi, We got new windows installed as part of our reno - the old ones were oxidized aluminium ones from the 70s... Anyway when our carpenter put in the new ones about 50% of the windows ended up with about a 0.5cm x 2cm scratch in the powder coating... looks like it was from the sliding handles bit. We live about 2km from the ocean... Should I be worried about these scratches??? Is it going to cause problems down the track?? Is there any way to fix it? Thanks for your help - look forward to hearing from you guys!! This is a serious problem! The ocean moisture will damage the powder coatings around the scratches first then all way around.Did you buy these windows from China ? Not a problem, easy fix.
