Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Jan 14, 2011 12:36 am Hi Everyone! Can i start by saying I love this site soooooo much I'm pretty much sold on the double roller blinds for our entire house, white for the sunscreen and white for the block out. BUT, I'm wanting to know, do most people have the block out on the inside or the outside? I'm pretty sure the place I got the quote uses those double bracket systems where the 2 blinds are in line with each other. Whereas, most of the pictures I've seen are with the block out on the ouside and on a seperate bracket which makes the blind wider to block out more light. Can anybody please advise or help me? I'm in WA so if anybody has had any good experiences with blinds places over here I'd appreciate a recommendation Cheers Re: For all those with Double Rollers - Please answer 2Jan 14, 2011 9:58 am I've got some double rollers on windows but not the double roller mechanism - I have two single rollers on the window. I have the privacy one sitting inside the window on a roller and then on the outside of the window frame I have the block out. I was worried that with the double roller mechanism that they wouldn't sit close enough to the window frame for complete blockout. So is it the normal thing to have the block out on the outside? I would have thought having the block out on this inside would be better to block out the sun? I don't know this is all so hard! Erin - what colour is that painted on your walls? It's very nice Are you happy with the double rollers? And it looks like the block out one is wider than the window is that right? Does anybody else have any pics? Re: For all those with Double Rollers - Please answer 5Jan 14, 2011 10:51 am Thanks Paint is Taubman's "Malamute". Block out is wider, and it rolls 'in' (whereas the other blind sits in flush within the doorframe and rolls 'out') As the block out blind rolls 'in', it sits flush on the architrave and blocks out all light (no light coming through the sides). Re: For all those with Double Rollers - Please answer 6Jan 14, 2011 11:01 am I'm guessing it costs more to have them on 2 seperate brackets? I'll have to go and see them blinds people and see if they offer that option. What company did you buy them though? My whole house is costing me just over $7,000, with almost all of them being double rollers. Do you think that sounds reasonable? Re: For all those with Double Rollers - Please answer 7Jan 14, 2011 11:06 am Hi Bec,do you want all the light block out or just bedrooms.Erin your blinds look good. Re: For all those with Double Rollers - Please answer 8Jan 14, 2011 11:09 am Hi pattycake4 - Yeah just the bedrooms need to have the light blocked out, although I like the option of having the sunscreen down in the day to let light in and stop people seeing in so I definately want both block out and sunscreen. Hope that made sense? Re: For all those with Double Rollers - Please answer 9Jan 14, 2011 11:17 am I understand Maybe living areas could have both blinds sit inside door/window frames, this would depend on depth of frames.Bedrooms same as Erin's Re: For all those with Double Rollers - Please answer 10Jan 14, 2011 12:23 pm Tried posting earlier, but lost the internet grrrrr. I think the blinds for our doors cost around $600, or a little over.
