Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Dec 18, 2010 7:52 pm Goodevening all I am currently residing interstate and due to move into my home in the next few weeks, there are no window coverings whatsoever and being interstate it is almost impossible to organise them without being there- the last thing I want is to decide on something just for the sake of having window coverings and then realise later on that I am not fond of my choices. I am looking at the option of Redi shades, has anyone had experience with them? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanking You Re: Redi Shades Temporary Window coverings 2Dec 18, 2010 8:16 pm I haven't got them yet but if you do a search in here there have been previous threads about them. I'm going to get them for some windows. A few others that will be getting drapes on rods i will get the rods straight away but hanging sheets that I have stapled (yes stapled) ribbons to. So they will go up the day I move in until I can get the curtains measured. You can check out a local spotlight or other national curtain supplier or bunnings if you are going with rods and then just purchase on the floor when you are in the state. My rods are going in before we begin moving our stuff in. I have a level and drill packed ready to go with all the bits I need for the rods Re: Redi Shades Temporary Window coverings 3Dec 19, 2010 1:39 am we used them. they were great. a few people have them here. think lisanne, kek had them. there are also blinds in a box which do a similar item and a few people used them. Re: Redi Shades Temporary Window coverings 4Dec 19, 2010 7:40 am There is a whole thread dedicated to temporary window coverings. It's actually always at the top of this forum! viewtopic.php?f=23&t=31381 Plenty of info there! FWIW, I had Redi Shades for about 12 months (still have 3 windows and 1 stacker door with them...) and they have been brilliant! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! We had so many compliments on our lovely window coverings (followed by surprised laughs when we explained they were actually just paper). Certainly looked fine, were easy to put up, and blocked out enough light. My only complaint was that some of them when removed (even very carefully) took paint with them (fortunately not visible unless really looking) Re: Redi Shades Temporary Window coverings 7Dec 25, 2010 9:03 am upsydaisy I had redi shades on all our windows while we were waiting for our blinds and plantation shutters. Re: Redi Shades Temporary Window coverings 8Jan 06, 2011 12:09 pm I might be too late but we bought some black block out ones from Blinds in a Box and they are fantastic! About $50 delivered for 6 blinds and they completely keep out the light and the heat. Very easy to install - you just stick them up - and you can cut them into the size that you need. We have them in our bedroom and also our home theatre room and are tempted to leave them there! ------------------------------------------------------ Handover: 14 December 2010 Current: Putting in plants!
