Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Dec 12, 2010 9:53 pm We have nearly completed our new house which was optioned with double glazed windows. The drawing shows the window schedule with double glazing for all windows, sliding door and also the glass in the laundry door which is hinged. The contract states double glazing for all windows and sliding door. All the windows and sliding doors do have double glazing but the hung laundry door was only single glazed. I questioned this as soon as it was fitted and was expecting a replacement but the builder has now come back and said the door is correct to contract. They are still to answer why the drawing shows double glazing for the laundry door, but my question to the experts is would the glass in the laundry door be classified as a window therefore my contract of double glazing for all windows could apply. Magee Re: Does the glass in a Wooden Frame door classify as a wind 2Dec 12, 2010 10:14 pm If the drawing shows double glazing then that should be enough for you to get double glazing. Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 Re: Does the glass in a Wooden Frame door classify as a wind 4Dec 13, 2010 12:39 am Legally the situation is that the if the drawing with the door double glazed is part of the contract then the only way the builder might get out of it is if the door is specified separately in the specification as single glazed. This makes the intent of the contract unclear. If the glazing of the door is shown Double glazed in the drawing and not mentioned in the specification then the builder is bound to change it.
