Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Nov 25, 2010 12:29 pm I have some door frames to be installed which are stainless steel. They look great however I think the thermal bleed could be an isssue. That is if warm inside and cold outside the frames will conduct the heat out and vice versa. They will be filled with concrete behind the frame that is concrete will fill the hollow of the frame. Will this be an issue? The entire width of the frame is 200mm. Is there anything I could place inside the frame as a thermal break particularly the edge facing into the house (40mm) maybe a strip of foam. Or will the concrete slow the whole process (heat transfer) down anyway? I hope this makes some sense Thanks Pulpo Re: Thermal bleed Stainless steel door jamb 2Nov 25, 2010 5:14 pm Pulpo I have some door frames to be installed which are stainless steel. The coefficient of heat transfer of stainless steel is 10% of aluminium. So don't worry... that's why s/s mugs of coffee stay hot for ages.
