Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Oct 08, 2010 6:00 pm Hi everyone, I just need some advise from you....I an building with PD and on my recent visit to my house I noticed that the internal door height (standard 2040) and the internal openings are different heights (openings are higher than the door openings). The ground floor ceiling height as part of the promotion was 2590. We were never advised of this different heights by either in the contract docs are verbally by our CSC. I am just concerned now that this may not create a good look internally especially around my living and kitchen are where the doors and openings are next to each other. Do any of you have come accross this issue during your build or have seen this somewhere (if you do have a pic that will be great). Is it common to have different height openings and internal doors?? All your good feedback will be appreciated. Sorry I dont have a photos yet....but will take some in my next visit. Cheers Re: Different heights for Internal door and openings - Is it 2Oct 08, 2010 6:16 pm Sorry, I don't understand. Do you mean your external doors and windows are 2400 and internal are 2040? Cheers Re: Different heights for Internal door and openings - Is it 5Oct 08, 2010 7:42 pm Our new home has the same thing and it's never bothered us. In fact I like it. I think it defines the distinct areas quite well eg bedroom is more enclosed and private, open plan areas are...well more public! I knew it would be that way as I visited the builder's display home. Did you view the display home? or did you purchase from a plan only? Cheers Hi foundation, I understand that you are concerned with the appearance of your internal doors and openings. Have you had a chance to discuss it with your CSA? They will be able to answer any questions you have. If you don't know who your CSA is or how to contact them then send me through a private message with your name and phone number and I'll see what I can do to help you out. It looks terrible, and should be rectified by the installer at initial install of frames IMHO. Hi All, This is our second home build and first time with a custom builder.
