Hello Home Renovation & Building Forum users,
I have purchased a partially renovated house that has some new aluminium windows and plaster board in a couple of rooms, plaster board is finished and bogged but not painted.
Problem is windows have been used with extremely deep reveals that are 2 or 3 inches out past the plaster board. I don't want to remove the windows but would like to find an easy method to cut back the reveal so it is neat and flush with the internal plaster wall to make a neat finish for the trim.
My idea was to maybe jigsaw around the reveal leaving a little exposed that could be planed back to almost flush with the wall. This might be a problem to try and get a nice even finish all the way around the window.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

We would always remove windows if the reveals needed trimming. Impossible to do a really neat job by trimming in situ. But I think your solution would be the best of a bad lot.
