Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Sep 23, 2010 4:48 pm hello, I'm new and looking for opinions. We are building a new weatherboard house with N@va homes in Melbourne. We can’t afford to upgrade to wooden windows and I am worried the basic aluminium N@va supply will look out of place (and ugly). I was thinking of getting a wooden frame/surround attached to the weatherboard to give the windows more character, is this possible and do you think that would work? anyone done this? any other suggestions? any pictures? cheers Re: windows in new weatherboard house 2Sep 23, 2010 5:08 pm We have used Trend aluminium windows in woodland grey, in with the hardies stria board. We have timber surrounds on the window that we just painted in the woodland grey. A lot of houses around us have done the same. It is so hard to imagine what it will look like. Lou - your windows look very impressive, love your facade. I will look into Trend windows, don't know how much of an upgrade they will be. Will have a look at your blog too! kb46 - what windows are they? The N@va ones don't have any edging. Re: windows in new weatherboard house 5Sep 24, 2010 5:38 am Quote: kb46 - what windows are they? All our windows are louvres though, so I don't know whether sliding windows from the same manufacturer would have the trim built in or not. BTW louvres are often a 3rd party product and don't reflect the standard window installation.
