Looks like we will go the sliding door. It's not ideal but I think it makes the most sense. The upside is that you wont look directly at the open cavity as you walk in the front door. Unfortunately because of where the door is, it has to be a single cavity door (I think doubles would've looked a bit nicer) as there is no room for the cavity on the other side. French doors were considered but by the time you make the door way wider it would end up taking up as much space as a regular door and one of the doors would cover our light switches. Again with bifolds we would have to make the door way a bit wider (don't want to be dragging shopping bags etc through a narrow door) and then we would lose the straight line of the door being at the end of the hallway.
