Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Aug 25, 2010 3:29 pm Hi all, Hoping someone can pls pls help me.... We'd like to have roman blinds with roller screen to the majority of windows in our open plan house and have appt to see our curtain guy for quote. What do we do with the 3 sliding doors? Has anyone got/seen Roman blinds over sheer curtain? Would prefer this to a screen for privacy as have little ones who will be constantly in & out esp in family room, but not sure if it would look odd. Can't find any pics in curtain shops/net. Just the other way around. Surely its not that unusual??? Has anyone done this to their place or can show me a link? Many TIA!! BB Re: Sheer curtain Under Roman blinds??? 2Aug 30, 2010 6:03 pm Hi, We did an installation once where the customer had everything - an awning on the outside for shade, the sheer crocheted curtains, blinds and thick draping curtains as well as special glass that went obscure by using a switch, although the curtains and blinds were colour matched it wasn't practical. They just wanted a change and it looked nice. I'm still undecided whether to go screen blinds or sheers tho on the doors. For those of you with kids under 3 have you had any trouble with screen blinds over sliding doors? I don't know if this is just where I am, but people I've asked here think its best to go with curtains to avoid any damage. Also, I have 2 narrow floor length windows on 1 side of the room. Going to put screens under romans here as need optimal space for meals table. On the other side of the room we have our family area ie couch etc that leads outside. This side has a large floor length window, then probably only 40cm to right a sliding door. Want these 2 to match each other, but to tie it all in does anyone think it would look unbalanced if I had the romans with sheers underneath? Or should I just go curtains in same fabric as romans? arrrggh Im getting so confused!! Any advice would be appreciated. You can put a roller blind behind the shutters.
