Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Jul 27, 2010 2:13 pm I have two sets of double sliding doors in my living/kitchen area. They are both 4.3metres long. I haven't chosen my window coverings for them yet as I'm stuck at what to put there. I have blockout roller blinds in all the other rooms, and wanted sheers/sunscreen blinds on these as it's a very private area, so don't need privacy, but I don't like the thought of having 3 or more blinds on one window. Can you do just two on a window this long? My other option was some curtains, but with little children (one just started crawling and into everything), it's not something I want to do till later. Any ideas?? I don't want anything chunky and want to try to keep it simple. Anyone with long doors/windows, what have you done? TIA Re: blinds on double sliding doors? 2Jul 27, 2010 2:22 pm We have Romans everywhere except for on our big sliding doors. We have curtains. I know you didn't want them til later, but with DS and dogs in and out all the time, I just couldn't see a better option for a door that is used so frequently. I could see myself forever putting blinds up and down as people/animals went in and out. Curtains are much easier to just moved aside. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. They're basically like big vertical blinds that slide across in sections. I'm thinking of getting them on my sliding door (can't afford window coverings yet!) so can't give you any feedback about them yet but they will avoid the problems that joles mentioned. Re: blinds on double sliding doors? 4Aug 08, 2010 7:05 pm Thanks guys. After all that, I am getting curtains I went to see about blinds, but I would have to have 4 on each door and have chains hanging down in between. I was told I could get two to run on one chain, but found some curtains I love. They are just sheers, as we don't need the privacy, just to diffuse a bit of light in the afternoons possibly and for decoration. Had panel glides in a previous home and they where great, they slide right back when you wanted the doors open and gave great block out, there where no chains just a rod at the top to side them open and closed. Easy to install yourself and you just cut them to length.
