Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Jul 12, 2010 12:00 pm Hi All, I am looking at changing my entrance door handle to my unit. I am limited in that i need to keep the external handle (a gold knob) on the outside, however internally am looking to change to a chrome lever. Currently internally there is a gold lever which has a push button to activate the lock. My question is: Can I simply change the internal lever over - and ideally i would like to change to a turn switch to activate the lock instead of a push button. Can this work or are the 2 mechanisms to activate the lock different processes? push as opposed to turn? Is this feasible? Or should I be speaking to a locksmith? Or am I dreaming? TIA Re: Door Handle - Change knob to lever (with lock?) 2Jul 12, 2010 1:45 pm what brand of lock do you currently have? Not sure if it will be as long lasting as a steel finish? 6 6328 Get some long brass machine screws and bolt right through the gate and put brass acorn nuts and washers on the other side. It will never come off 1 8981 1 4664 |
