We are going an Aluminium awning windows for most in the house due to them appearing to be superior than a sliding window from an insulation perspective (plus i prefer the look). One of the things we can't quite work out are the low-e type options that you can put on. The window manufacture we are looking to go with have the following options - Planitherm - ClimaGuard - Energy Advantage Now we haven't got prices yet but looking on the WERS website the plaitherm seems to be the best overall in terms of cooling and heating values and living in Canberra our preference is more on the heating than cooling side of things.
