Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Jun 11, 2010 11:02 am Hi all, I'm trying to work out what windows to put on the front facade of the house. The living areas are indicated, as is the main bedroom and walk-in-robe. I'm using a comination of 800mm wide louvers (by max 2400 high), fixed glass panels (any width up to 1500 wide x max 2400 high). Fixed panels can be in 1 2 or 3 leaf combinations. thanks Our "Better Homes Queensland" Cairns Build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=40451 Current stage - 1st builder's clean done. Keys soon. I love louvres - the house we're building has 900mm wide x 2100mm louvres throughout. To me they represent a laidback and relaxed feel. Not sure I would want as much glass as you're proposing - for heating/cooling efficiency as much as the cleaning I'm also finding with our own layout that there isn't much wall space for our beloved pictures and photos, especially in this era where we hang TV's on the wall as well. Re: windows for front of house - help! 4Jun 16, 2010 11:07 am I think the front looks a bit cluttered with windows maybe try 3 windows in the living area one on the side and maybe just one wider window in the master bedroom. If you wanted louvers in the master you could have the window in 3 panels - louver - fixed - louver. Not sure about the 2 small windows to the WIR either. Try 3 or even 2. So basically 2 in the front for living, 1 on the side and again 2 for Bedroom. For WIR try 1 horizontal at the top (combine the 2 small windows into one...so allows light to enter in but at the same time gives you privacy)....again just my opinion and at the end you should go with what you like.... 26/2 - Sales 23/3 - Colours 31/3 - Tender 14/4 - Contract 7/5 - Taps 12/6 - Site start 15/6 - Slab 27/6 - Frame 1/8 - Lockup/Fixing 29/9 - PCI 25/10 - Handover Re: windows for front of house - help! 6Jun 16, 2010 4:24 pm old window layout: http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i80/danielt25/frontelevation.jpg new window layout: (from above suggestions) From inside living area: (old facade) from inside living area (new facade) Our "Better Homes Queensland" Cairns Build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=40451 Current stage - 1st builder's clean done.
