Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Oct 05, 2007 5:27 pm Wondering if anybody can help me with purchasing the square door stoppers. They would appear to be stickers, which you would stick to the wall so that the door handle would not mark the wall. I have seen these at the dispaly homes but have had no luck in finding them at Bunnings or other hardware stores. If anybody knows what i'am talking about and are able to advise of the actual name of this product and where i can purchase them from it would be much appreciated. Re: Door Stopper - Square sticker 2Oct 05, 2007 5:32 pm Do you really want to STICK something to the wall? Removing it down the track one day, if you have to, will make a horrid mess of your paintwork!
Why not just use the old conventional ones, screwed into the base of the door? Failing that I think I saw them the other day at K-Mart.... As a side point - are the conventional door stoppers supposed to be screwed into the door or the architrave where the door would hit? From memory I can't ever remember seeing them attached to the door. Ray. Re: Door Stopper - Square sticker 7Oct 06, 2007 1:30 am We have got some (square sticker stoppers) in our house, one is stuck in the middle of the wall of a bedroom....where there are no doors.
We have those door stoppers that you screw into the skirting also...only the owners before us screwed--drilled-- them into the wall so the door handle would hit it. I am sure I have seen them, the ones you are looking for, at kmart and bunnings too. Re: Door Stopper - Square sticker 8Oct 08, 2007 10:18 am As long as the door stopper (which screws in to the skirting/wall) is longer than the door handle, your door handle won't hit the wall.
I like the ones with a magnet as it catches and holds the door instead of those rubber ones which are hopeless when there's strong wind.
