It would be nice to hear if anyone else has the same thing for their house, to confirm that I'm not crazy . Re: can a front door open out? does anyone have one? 4May 08, 2010 10:35 pm I always thought that it was for privacy and security. You can open an inward door slightly and look out with a good view but an outward door only provides a small viewing area. I did take this into consideration when I decided on outward opening doors. Re: can a front door open out? does anyone have one? 7May 09, 2010 9:50 am van Am intrigued about why front doors always open inwards? Can they open outwards instead? Want a wide door but don't want it to open up too close to front bedroom door..... interesting...... It's actually easier to seal a door that opens out. And if your door is exposed, water collecting on the face from rain doesn't come into the home when you open it. That said, if you want flyscreens or security doors then this is a problem.
