When pulled, they do affect the summer temperature but obviously do nothing for the winter. We can cope with the summer (good old A/C) but the winter is a real bind. We are willing to take out a slice of equity from the house to make it more bearable....if it can be achieved. Cold at night - double glaze all windows... Half the problem at least... (maybe reduce by 2/3 depends what you have now) Hot in the sun - add Low-E glass to the North and West. about 80% reduction in heat.
