Great looking product.
Windows/ Doors:Made in china(so's my phone and tablet)
He spoke to be about titanium dioxide making the product UV stable which rang alarm bells because I only know it as a Pigment.
When I googled it later ,pardon my ignorance I discovered it was the main constiuent in suncream My Dur!
I like the product but 25% of the product price for installation seems steep. Things seem quiet at the moment and I reakon you could tramp him on price(worth a try)
The other issue is our German friends(Ecovues competitor) dont usually do blinds inbetween because that means a seal from the glass cavity to external (Maunal) actuator. Apparently our German cousins are concerned that eventually the seal will fail allowing the release of the Argon,Xenon gas thus reducing the efficiency. When they do do blindsthe germans have a fancy series of motors inside the cavity but the blinds have a maximum length of less than 2 m as a consequence of the design.
Having said that the ecovue Blinds look Fantastic however how longs that seal going to last 10 years? 20 years? and how would you know when your inert gas has leaked away? That begs the question why bother Double Glazing? maybe someone in the Industry like Ed@ Ecoclassic could give us a heads up on the issue?
Dont forget to use toughened Glass. Do you really want to take a tipsy teenager/ silly kid's hand off. Laws governing this on Double glazing are trailing legislation for single glass. I am convinced most people dont realise how lethal a lot of glass is.
In a perfect world we would perhaps all have custom made aluminium windows/doors with a thermal break (Probably from Deutschland). In the real world ecovue provides a very real alternative......(but i'd do further study before paying for blinds-Seal issue)
Im open to any thoughts from people who have Double Glazing installed or sell the stuff. I'm trying to educate myself at the moment.
