sliding aluminium glass windows

Nearly all the sliding aluminium glass windows in my house do not slide easily (due to old age and lack of maintenance, i imagine). Does anyone know how i can fix this?

Hi,
try to clean the tracks and change the rollers.
It is a general problem with aluminium joinery as the hardware used is poorly designed with no adjustment options and often cheap rubbish.
I have stacks of aluminium windows from replacement jobs in my backyard, most of the "hardware" is worn out or broken.
If you are looking at replacing? Make sure it is European designed hardware.
There are several companies all over Australia offering Euro designed quality windows.
It might be a bit more expensive but you get real value for your money. :!:

I guess it is like buying a car, you get what you pay for.....

lift out windows if possible and give a good cleanout,then try an old bar of soap,that has dried out and rub on track and sides of track as well,There is a lube for these but the one i have used melts very quickly in the heat,hope this helps.
