We had a bifold door in our old bathroom, and the doorway was 680mm, so the clear opening was even less with the door folded open. But it was quite sufficient for an adult to get in and out. The door opening was enlarged to 720mm, and the door was hinged, when we renovated; 720 is a standard door size. Perhaps you could check with some door manufacturers to check out typical sizes used?
