Our original plans had 3 hallway windows of 9 wide and 18 long. On inspection today the windows installed are 6 wide and 6 long. The hallway is 1.2 m wide and and about 7 m long. Do I tell them to change it to the longer narrow windows? or leave them as they are? We have the 6x6 windows in out dining room also. I would love any feedback The difference in size is considerable and if you decide to keep the smaller windows I would be asking your builder/supplier for a refund. Personally I've always like narrow and tall windows in hallways but your tastes maybe different. If the windows have already been installed do they look ok to you? As already stated smaller windows will provide better insulation properties. I also consider the internal window coverings issue (1.8m high x 0.9m wide is a fairly common size = lots of choices) and any council building/planning approval problems before the house goes much further.
