Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Aug 05, 2007 11:09 pm Hi folks,
We are building a Georgian home with some modern que's to bring a fresh face to an old classic! Most of the windows are 2100mm high awnings with a few casements and we are looking for a thick frame in either commerical or semi-commercial. All windows have to be thermally broken (4/12/4) to meet five star enegrgy rating in Victoria which I don't mind paying extra for as the heating and cooling will save me $$$ in the long run. Being a pretty big house (42sq living) we have about 35 windows in total. The front of the home is facing east (bedrooms and formal dining) with the living areas (kitchen, meals and family rooms) facing north and west. We spent some time looking around at windows, I was really impressed with the Rylock system (especially the way the fly screens were mounted) however we didn't think the architectural series would suit our home. We also took a look at Fairview and Euro Windows however they were pretty expensive. In the end, we specified the Vantage system in our specification for all round looks, joinery and price. Was looking to get peoples experince with Vantage or any other recommendations you may have? Was also interested in what type of glass people found most appropriate for Melbourne climate and weather conditions? Look forward to your recommendations! Re: Recommendation on quality windows for modern Georgian 2Aug 18, 2007 1:00 pm Hi
You could look at EcoTherm - our thermally broken product - very heavy aluminium, very sharp design. Or uPVC which is about the same look at a lower cost. Both are well below market prices.... If you want double glazed at a lower cost then we have EcoTech 5mm glass, 10mm air and 5mm glass. Thanks Dave "ECOECO" At 'EcoEco', we design windows, we design the best windows, we do it for you, so that when you’re happy we are happy. Tel. 1800 326 326 Hi, This is my first post. Thanks so much ponzutwo for your advice.
