Hi all, not sure if we're allowed to post the company name so I'll leave that out for now.
We just had a new roller shutter installed by this mob, and there's a fair gap between the rails and the rendering on the inside of the window 'frame'. This lets in a huge amount of light compared to the shutters on our old place (which was rendered and installed the same way - on the inside of the window frame not outside).
We're both shiftworkers so the idea was to have complete darkness!
I spoke to their office, they said no worries we'll get the installer to call you - he did and said that it's not their problem as the rendering must not be straight - they'll come out and fix it but will charge us.
I'm stuck between speaking to their state manager (who we've already dealt with due to installation date problems) and getting on their back to fix it or remove the rollershutter under their money back +$100 guarantee thing, or just getting some coloured silicon/grout and filling the gaps myself.
What are peoples thoughts on this - should it be something they do as part of the install?
The pictures aren't great, but it should give an idea of where the gaps are.
