Browse Forums Windows & Doors 1 Nov 17, 2009 7:38 pm I am replacing old style louvre galleries (which have no mouldings inside the frame) with fixed glass panel windows. What kind of simple moulding section would I use to fix behind and in front of the glass and what dimensions would be suitable for for fixing 6mm glass in frames 1800 x 800? Thanks, Andrew Re: suitable mouldings for window frame? 2May 28, 2010 1:10 am Hi there. I would think 25mm square dressed sections would be fine. Just remember to use a high durability timber on the outside so it doesn't rot. I normally install the outside moulding first, then use a little silicone all the way around (nice and tight in the corner so it can't be seen) then install the inside moulding. Carefull to miss the glass with the nails! Good luck. PS You might want to put a slope on the bottom external mould so it doesn't hold the water. Dennis Not recommended! The image presented is for a sublevel area. The footings are down deep with a load bearing wall supporting the upper floor level. If you did that drain… 8 10605 This is 100% true. You can not hang anything on steel frames. very frustrating 8 8052 Its the flashing and is normal. Some builders cover them up others just leave them handing. You can cover it up with an aluminium bracket or ask the builder. 7 11248 |
