Browse Forums Windows & Doors Re: frameless glass stacker doors 3Nov 12, 2009 7:29 pm McKinnon The opening is 4.1 m wide. The bi fold quote for timber was around $4000. Would glass stackable be much more expensive. I have not seen any with fly screens, I don't want a lounge full of mozzies. Hi McKinnon Thre is another thread on this...cant find atm but we have glass stackers and are getting security/fly stacker doors as well (the ones that are all mesh not with the bars) I will post a pic as soon as they get installed (any day now I hope ) Mrs B Re: frameless glass stacker doors 4Nov 13, 2009 5:28 am Hi Mrs. B can you post a pic? Hi windowexpert I just realised the heading is 'Frameless' glass stackers. We have the frames so not the same thing I will post a pic anyway as soon as they are installed. Mrs B Re: frameless glass stacker doors 6Nov 14, 2009 2:27 am Hi McKinnon Are you talking about where there is no frame around the glass and are the same as a bifold or a stacker door. We first started looking at bifolds without the frame around the glass. Was about 2Ka metre. All on here put us off this option. Not all that practical apparently. Then i got prices for bifolds. 6k each. We need two. Then when i was speaking to someone regarding the bifolds the lady said why not stacker doors. By the time they are open there was not much of difference in the opening left and half the price. Also, the profile around the glass is slimmer. We have to go and take a look still and see the difference visually. Caz Re: frameless glass stacker doors 7Dec 08, 2009 2:11 pm Yeah I found them Hafele makes them. Variofold and Centrefold. I would post the pic but I can never upload them. Can someone do it for me please? I need 4m wide and 2.4 high, each panel costs approx 3k. that means approx 12k for outdoor alfresco doors. Someone else would have to make the fly screen system. If I have money in the budget i will get them. AWESOME! Re: frameless glass stacker doors 8Dec 09, 2009 9:03 pm the hafele stacking door systems are excelent,i fit many of these systems per year with virtually no call backs (very minor prob with one lock and normal maint ) correctly installed should last a life time. These are made by hawa ag and sold under lic by hafele. Are you looking at folding or stacking ,happy to give advice if wanted. have a look at the hawa site http://www.hawa.ch/hawa/fileadmin/user_ ... _20174.pdf a few other makes but i still prefer hafele http://www.lotusdoors.com.au/glasstax/index.html http://www.dorma.com.au/prod/glas/04_gl ... t%29/23038 http://www.geze.de/geze/products/glass- ... w.html?L=1 Re: frameless glass stacker doors 9Dec 10, 2009 9:07 am Thank-you very much, those sites are really helpfull. I would like it for the 4m x 2.4 opening to the alfresco. The problem is fly wire, in Melb we need it. Most of the doors are used for commercial purposes and are indoor. I think a fly wire would detract from the aesthetic purpose of the glass doors and when you spend a bucket load of money it's got to look right. If I can get a retractable fly wire to look good with the system I will try to do it. What do you need them to withstand? If it's normal wear and tear, then either will do, if you want resistance to ingress then laminated would be the favourite, but only… 1 12390 2 4496 Sure looks like the type of track that I fitted to my house. My supplier said that the underside has a tray which drains to the front. They cut vertical slots in it. So as… 6 7900 |
